This week’s podcast focuses on how we make decisions, with our head or heart. How useful are intuition and gut instinct, and what role do thoughts and/or feelings play in the life of a business owner, solopreneur or human being?
In the Show…
Nicola’s enjoyed some fabulous online successes with her clients and colleagues. Birthday gifts have started to arrive and she’s had a solid content creation week. She’s feeling pleased.
Judith has a longish rant about what she learned from the Facebook makeup brouhaha she accidentally triggered last weekend.
- What’s Fuelled Their Fire?
Judith was heartened by the response to her most vulnerable ever newsletter about her back pain, and Nicola’s all fired up by a conversation with Aussie Jarrod, the guy in charge of her app, and all the new options and functionality hers will have.
- Client Challenge of the Week
Do you trust yourself enough? Do you make decisions with your head or with your heart? Do you avail yourself of your own inner wisdom/gut instincts, or do you override those messages with your brain? N&J talk about the formidable tool available to you via your intuition, your inner knowing, and about the distinction between thoughts and feelings. Given the choice, do you go with head or heart?
- Words of the Week
Nicola chooses 30,000 (thirty thousand) which she explains is the average number of our days on this earth and asks are we enjoying them or making the most of them? Judith chooses Opinion, suggesting we don’t offer ours until or unless it is asked for.
- Project Updates
Judith’s got her book off to the first in her 3-woman proof-reading team and Nicola has lots of news to share about the podcast stats. Download numbers spiked on one recent day at 326 when norms are more usually 350-550 a week. 58,641 all-time downloads is an impressive number. The new YouTube availability shows 43 views across all 150 episodes without any marketing having been done and Nicola teaches the listeners about Player.FM which is already useful but will offer Android Auto soon too. Judith throws down the challenge to the first listener to hear Own It! the podcast in a new car which comes off the production line with such inbuilt podcast facility (without using their smartphone) to let her know and be on the show.
- Who or What’s Impressed?
Judith mentions beautician Marzi again, who kept her cool during the great makeup debacle and wasn’t phased in the leas,t and also baked Judith a cake and gave her a prize of another makeup (!) which J won in a FB competition. Nicola is impressed by Pay With A Tweet and TAGRMovie.com.
