Today on the podcast Nicola and Judith review the ups and downs of 2016, what they’ve achieved and survived, and who are their people of the year.
In the Show..
Nicola’s beta testing her app and falling in love with a new piece of software called Deadline Funnel. Judith’s enjoyed the December supermoon, Bruno Mars on Carpool Karaoke, Nicola’s video of guinea pigs eating sprouts and being able to confirm that her assertion about St Nick in last week’s episode was correct. He is Santa!
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.
His eyes—how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;
The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly.
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf. . . .
- What’s Fuelled Their Fire?
Judith’s word game she talked about last week has led to intrigue, all her clients trying to guess which word she chose for each of them, and she’s decided to create more word games in future. Nicola’s embraced ordering online, even in Greece. And lists her favourite books and podcasts and TV shows of the year.
- Client Challenge of the Week – Celebrating and Summing up 2016
Nicola rattles through her year month by month, including the cruise, the Mustangs, Traffic & Conversoin, Australia and her plans to visit Neil in Lisbon after enjoying meeting up with him again in Sydney. She talks about a secret event she hopes to attend next year in LA and describes her decision to move to Greece and her pride at her daughter’s You Tube views. She’s finding the Stoupa sunshine helpful.
Judith is amazed to find herself still living in her own home after it “sold” in just three days way back in April, and talks about living with less having given away all her possessions in July. She’s missed almost none of them! She’s been eating low-carb since 25th September and is delighted with the results, she’s got back to writing more and is loving Facebook Notes.
- Words of the Year 2016
Nicola picks Resilience and Judith chooses Word.
- Project Updates all about the Podcast
Another 52 episodes in the bag, including five during August with stand-in co-hosts covering for Judith on holiday. There are five recording Wednesdays in August 2017 too so if you would like to be a co-host, please get in touch. Criteria for that are that you bring the Client Challenge of the Week and you work with clients in business and/or marketing.
In response to a query from Alison, Nicola & Judith attempt to recall their process for organising the virtual summit in July after a spontaneous idea during one of the April live shows.
Who of What’s Impressed? People of the Year 2016
Nicola is impressed by her children, Nelson and Phoebe, and their respective creative output after their long working hours, her sister Sarah for organising their move to Greece and being the ideal travel companion, and Judith.
Judith chooses Daphne Kapsali and her book 100 Days of Solitude which was a prompt for the sisters’ move to Stoupa, Andy Murray for his tennis and Ed Balls for his dancing.
