This week, Nicola and Judith have lost their dear friend, much-loved family member and business partner Steve Watson. What happens to your business when you lose someone? Would your business survive a bereavement?
In the Show..
As friends and clients and some of our listeners will know, this week we lost Steve Watson, website designer and so much more; aged just 49, gone too soon. Our memories and stories of Steve dominate this week’s podcast.
- What’s Fuelled Their Fire?
Nicola, in her grief, is waking up early and before the show today she made a meme of Steve. She talks about the therapeutic value of being able to share the photos of her family and all Steve’s friends on Facebook and social media. And life goes on too. Nicola’s finding solace in work. Judith is happy to welcome two new clients this week, one of them a highly-motivated referral.
- Client Challenge of the Week
Bereavement: would your business survive? What can you put in place when it comes to systems so that anyone could step in and take over, protecting your clients’ ongoing interests and managing work-in-progress. And if you had to have time off unexpectedly and at short notice, would your business be vulnerable? Is there solace in immersing yourself in your work?
- Words of the Week
Nicola chooses Dance, because Steve loved to. Judith chooses Loss as this isn’t her only one this week, the other being a life-changing court case.
- N&J Project Upates
One of Judith’s new JVs both retreated then advanced again. And Nicola is creating something big and new with a former business associate she re-connected with during her recent trip to Oz.
- Who or What’s Impressed?
In times of trouble, Nicola falls back on her favourite #AskGaryVee and specifically an interview he’s doing to promote his new book of the same name. Judith, for the second week running, is impressed by Nicola and particularly how she’s managing the special challenges this week presents.
