This week Judith and Nicola discuss the secret key to business success, finding the holy grail. If you knew what to do, you’d do it. Right? Unfortunately it isn’t that simple.
In the Show..
Nicola’s back from running her own Facebook Ads course at Gatwick, despite the hotel turning away the delegates and Judith’s on holiday for December, intent upon no more than 50% of her day only at the computer screen, plus juicing and blogging daily now she’s got more time.
- What’s Fuelled Their Fire?
Nicola is excited by Own It! The Podcast’s first serious sponsorship request and Judith did a complete U turn on Black Friday and went shopping (almost unheard of); the right offer at the right price.
- Client Challenge of the Week
After a couple of recent mentoring experiences, Nicola realised that mentoring clients are always watching and waiting for the holy grail, the secret key to business success. The secret key is that there is no secret which Nicola explains is very liberating, when you “get it”. Now you can get on with the work and the experiments and the learning and the testing and measuring and one day you’ll wake up and find you have all you need to be successful in your own business and in your own way.
“Getting to Plan B” by John Collins and Randy Komisar
“Evolved Enterprise” by Yanik Silver
Why There’s No Holy Grail podcast episode by James Schramko
- Words of the Week
Nicola’s choice is Dick-Swinging (in a very ladylike fashion, of course!) and Judith goes for Sums.
- N&J Project Updates
Nicola is contemplating streamlining her mentoring membership site and narrowing her niche there to digital service providers only. Judith has edited down her list of 11 “bit on the side” projects to just seven, evaluated earnings from all and discovered the most profitable/passive and will focus on that one now.
- Who or What’s Impressed?
Judith is impressed by Team GB’s Davis Cup Tennis win, the first since 1936. And Nicola has impressed herself by chasing down a solution to finding a way of creating great order forms, which integrates nicely with Stripe without the need for a developer and it is called Moonclerk. Downside is no Infusionsoft integration without Zapier.
