Do you suffer from what Nicola calls “faulty thinking”? Do you know how to think and make decisions? Have you been taught that at school or elsewhere? Judith and Nicola think about thinking and share some thinking models.

In the Show..

Nicola’s learning to be patient, waiting on iTunes to approve her App. And Judith spent the second week of the holidays catching up with old friends in person and on the phone, something for which she doesn’t normally have enough time.

  • What’s Fuelled Their Fire?

Judith is thinking of starting a new PWYW coaching group for those who want to focus on creating a wonderful life, and Nicola tells how it feels to have the funds to set up a business properly for the first time in her life, thanks to her pension drawdown.

  • Client Challenge of the Week

Nicola introduces this week’s topic picking up examples of what she sees as faulty thinking from her recent survey, and together with Judith they explore the capacity to think and think well, confidently and clearly, and to make decisions and take responsibility. Thinking models are offered such as Kaizen, using your gut, Rich Schefren’s Decision Tree and Steve Pavlina’s Broken Edges.

  • Words of the Week

Nicola picks Grit and Judith chooses Being (not Doing).

  • Project Updates – About the Podcast

Judith and Nicola look at their own podcast website and decide to put their No 1 most wanted action (subscribe on iTunes) from the visitor right up the top where it is highly visible, to simplify the menu choices and remove the Speakpipe which very few have ever used. Nicola reminds listeners that their websites must be checked and looked at on all browsers and all your different gadgets and that pop-ups can be a terrible distraction on mobile.

  • Who or What’s Impressed?

Judith was impressed by crime writer Val McDermid who seemed to win the Christmas alumni University Challenge single-handedly, and Nicola loves Intercom.io because it makes communicating with your customers on your website, app and membership site really easy, facilitating customer service and helping visitors when they get stuck or have a problem.
