This week Nicola holds forth on the importance of having something to sell at your website, perhaps between your freebie and your main product/service. She talks about how to work out what that should be, why to do it at all and what to sell online.
In the Show..
Nicola has picked up PR in her two local newspapers, the one in Brighton, UK and the one in Stoupa, Greece. She’s put a book up on Amazon in 2-3 hours using CreateSpace, issue #2 of her vzine is out and her son Nelson has secured both a record deal for his EP and a radio show – wow! Judith is applying for a new passport on Friday and spending the day in London doing it in person, anticipating another decade of travel adventures.
- What’s Fuelled Their Fire?
Judith is so over Facebook and has been exploring alternatives for her Facebook Groups, waxing lyrical about Mobilize.io as a possibility. Nicola is on fire and in flow with content creation, citing batching time as her mojo.
- Client Challenge of the Week
What’s the first thing you offer visitors to your website to buy? What valuable online marketing lessons can you learn by sourcing or creating this? Nicola talks about selling a product or a package of your own expertise or services, or selling information products (your own or those of other people) to your visitors. And Judith and she debate the pros and cons of affiliate marketing, mainly the pros as they both see it.
- Words of the Week
Judith chooses SHOULD (don’t) and Nicola chooses Creativity, because she’s exploding with it this week.
- Project Updates – the Podcast
Nicola and Judith debate the relative merits and profits of creating three books out of their eighteen Virtual Summit interviews. Nicola is gagging with excitement about the possibilities, Judith is less certain of the upsides and will need convincing by Nicola proving the business case with books of her own first. How many books will they need to sell to make back the $360 transcription costs and what are the “invisible wins” of having another book on Amazon when Nicola is already an Amazon bestseller?
- Who or What’s Impressed?
Judith tells the story of Amanda Owen, The Yorkshire Shepherdess, and her book of the same name. Amanda says “I decide what’s important every day and get on with it”, a woman after J&N’s own hearts! Here’s Amanda on Breakfast TV.
Nicola has been interviewed by Anthony Tilley on The Solopreneur Show podcast #002 and talks about his focus and the execution of his nifty business plan of video interviews, audio (podast), transcripts turned into books, and a CTA to join his membership site for a small fee to hear and read and see all the uncut content.
