In The Show…

Nicola has enjoyed going to a housewarming party on a Monday afternoon, innovations and learning at Write Club including their intended new podcast aimed at finding agents and publishers, and anticipating the arrival of Susanne J this coming weekend.

The highlight of Judith’s week was the pro photo shoot with her client Alison who flew down from Scotland especially to take the photos for Judith’s book jacket.

  • What’s Fuelled Their Fire?

Judith’s fire has been fuelled by learning a couple of new things but she confesses to being exhausted and looking forward to a period of not having to learn anything new for a while. It sure takes it out of you and fatigue is the risk.

Nicola’s excited about two books:

Raw Spirit: In Search of the Perfect Dram by Iain Banks and UNSCRIPTED: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Entrepreneurship by M.J. DeMarco.

  • Client Challenge of the Week

This week no Client Challenge was forthcoming, so Nicola takes the opportunity to talk about what to do when you come up blank. Where do you go for inspiration? The conversation goes to her vzine and the podcast, creativity, kaizen, when is enough enough, when do you stop, how to stop creating new stuff and start improving what you already have, and why clients keep quiet when they are stuck.

  • Words of the Week

Judith chooses Commitment and Nicola opts for Native.

  • Project Updates

Nicola is joining podcast groups and exploring podcasts about podcasts, all with an eye on marketing Own It! And Judith hopes her first proofreader will return the book tonight, as pledged, so that she can make corrections and pass it on to number two of the three-woman proofing team for Your Biz Your Way.

Who or What’s Impressed?

Judith’s had occasion twice this week to fall upon Sarah’s services thanks to two website things which looked easy, but weren’t, and is impressed by her tenacity and calmness. Nicola has been impressed by two things – a new podcast by Steve Bartlett called Diary of a CEO and a $7 offer from Digital Marketer called The $10 a Day Traffic Plan.
