How to measure your business success. Are you doing well or badly? Profits, sales, opt-ins, visitors to web pages; what do you measure?
In the Show..
Highlights of Nicola’s week include lots of incoming Amazon packages of real books and mosquito nets for her upcoming holiday in Greece and a new relationship with the Facebook Ads Team, while Judith is celebrating the fact that planning permission to excavate the basement beneath her feet was denied. Hurrah!
- What’s Fuelled Their Fire?
Judith is inspired by a visit to her beautician, a business she helped to start in 1997. And Nicola enthuses about outsourcing the dull bits, growing the team and having more fun at work.
- Client Challenge of the Week
How do you know how well your business is doing? What do you decide to measure? Nicola and Judith discuss the various different ways in which you might do that including management accounts, cashflow, profitability, turnover, sales, KPI, MRR, churn, opt-ins at your website, visitors to sales pages and more. Nicola recommends this article and spreadsheet by For Entrepreneurs re Saas Metrics.
- N&J Project Updates
Judith’s launch was delayed by 7 days until Tuesday 21st July 2015.
- Words of the Week
Funnel and Tolerations (busted)
- Who or What’s Impressed?
Nicola was impressed by Richard Branson’s To Do list which is very short, it just has one thing on it, the most important thing to get done today. And Judith is still inspired by all the Yes businesses who are taking care of all her former tolerations be it oven-cleaning, the visiting vet, the beautician, the car service, the chair repair man, the gardener or the hairdresser and the qualities of self-employed business owners who do their work cheerfully and know their worth as problem-solvers in a busy world.
